About Terry Slinde
TERRY SLINDE is Founder and President of RockSolid- A Leadership Growth Company, an Iowa based firm that works with small to medium sized companies in the areas of Strategic Thinking, Execution and alignment, Team building, Executive and Leadership Development.
He has over thirty-five years experience in the non-profit and private sectors as an experienced administrator, problem solver, and strategic planner. He works with successful people and organizations to change behavior and improve performance.
As former Senior Pastor of a large congregation in West Des Moines, Iowa, his background is extensive and varied. Terry’s strength, education and experience lend themselves to guiding people and organizations into, through and beyond change. In addition, he serves on the adjunct faculty of Buena Vista University teaching business and professional ethics, and as guest lecturer on Leadership in the Drake University MBA program.
Formerly, Terry was one of 500 Chairs of the worlds leading CEO Organization. Terry convened think tanks for select CEOs, Presidents and senior executives, working together to become better leaders, making better decisions, leading to better results. In 2005 Terry was selected as a recipient of the Chair Excellence Award given only to the organization’s top Group Chairs.
In 2011, he formed CEOdyne peer groups, an invitation only group of some of Iowa’s top Business CEO’s, Presidents and Owners. In addition, he has led the invitation only RockSolid Executive Leadership Group which includes several of Iowa’s up and coming business leaders, since 2003.
At the request of former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack, Terry chaired the Governor’s Property Management Advisory Committee, composed of CEOs and Senior Executives from private industry. In the fall of 2006, he was appointed by the Governor to the State Vertical Infrastructure Commission.
Terry has been a Certified Birkman Consultant since 2003 and recently became an affiliate of Miami (of Ohio) University’s Corporate and Community Institute and RHC.
Terry has been married for over 40 years to his wife, Maribel, and has two grown children and four grandchildren.
